The Massage Beat

So Kamala Harris is both an incumbent, and “fresh and new”.

This would seem to be an inconsistency and liability to normal candidates – who’d be getting questioned about this by a press that actually did its job.

But we don’t have that press:

Our actual press is more of a Praetorian Guard:

Kamala Harris is having it both ways as she hits the campaign trail after the Democratic National Convention, taking credit for parts of President Joe Biden’s record in rallies staged in front of Air Force Two while casting herself as a new leader who rails against “the politics of the past.”

In every presidential cycle candidates run on experience or freshness, but Harris so far appears to be successfully harmonizing two seemingly competing messages, much to the frustration of former President Donald Trump and his allies.

And, shucks, the AP isn’t going to do anything to change that, are they?

  1. When an army becpmes convinced it cannot beat the other, it surrenders. The loser stops fighting, throws down its weapons, and leaves the disputed territory in the control of the winner.

    Why do we call it a”retreat” from Afghanistan? Why isn’t it a “surrender?”

    Let’s ask Kamala. She was the last person in the room after the decision was made. Why did she support surrendering to the Taliban?

  2. I saw a couple of memes on this interview on other social media sites.

    This one from a woman;

    “Nothing says girl power like a woman who has to have an old man sitting with her for an interview.”

    Another (not from the Babylon Bee);

    “Harris is so scared to do an interview alone, that she needs to have an emotional support animal with her.”

  3. I made a slight adjustment:

    This would seem to be an inconsistency and liability to NON-DEMOCRAT candidates.

  4. BH429: Megyn Kelly came up with the term “Emotional Support Governor”. That was sheer brilliance on her part.

  5. Maybe they plan to have Little Timmy reprise the June Cleaver bit from Airplane.

    “Excuse me. I speak Kamala.”

  6. Babylon Bee
    CNN Harris-Walz interview on CNN. Ten leaked questions
    #6 “Is it difficult being a woman in politics? Same question for you, Vice-President Harris”.
