Open Letter To Governor Klink

Re: Hungry For The Truth

Governor,

You tweeted this yesterday:

And yet your administration and the DFL majorities in the Legislature told us that Minnesota’s economy was doing better than ever, that “Bidenomics” was not a bitter joke whose self-induced inflation was no way no how hurting poor and working class people worse than the general population, and that the actions of this past session were going to reduce poverty by 30%.

If any of that were true, food banks wouldn’t be seeing unprecedented demand – would they?

  1. So, it was my understanding that a quarter of a (fucking) billion dollars was “sent” to Feeding Our Future back in 2021 or ’22 to address childhood hunger in MN. Five million seems like chump change. I guess childhood hunger ain’t the thing it used to be.

By the way, are there any details of how that $5m will be spent?

  2. Perhaps the Democratic definition of a strong economy is one in which the poor need to beg for the most basic necessities of life? When you think of it, the state is paying for a lot of food, daycare, housing, medical care…..kinda hard to rein in the spending when a plurality of the voters depend on it for everything, no?
